DISTRIBUTION OF SEATS
For Non-Sponsored Category
(i) Parent University 50%
(ii) Universities in Maharashtra which do not have post-graduate
courses in Pharmacy (Presently Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological
Marathwada University , Aurangabad, Swami Ramanand Tirth
Marathwada University, Nanded ) 10%*
(In the order of Inter-se-merit)
(iii) Other Universities on All India basis 40% (Except parent
University)
* These admissions are as per the order of Bombay High Court
Bench at Aurangabad in case of Writ Petition no. 3164/97 and
shall continue to be extended for the above mentioned university
areas till the time approval is accorded to any institution to
start Post-graduate course in Pharmacy in these University
areas.
For Sponsored Category
Parent University 60%
All other Universities except parent University 40%
(If students of parent Universities are not available then the
seats shall be offered to students of other Universities in the
order of Inter-se-merit.)
RESERVATION:
(a) For SC, ST category Seats reserved for SC/ST as may be
decided by AICTE will be available to the candidates belonging
to these categories only. In the event of non-availability of
the candidates in one of the categories an availability of more
number of applicants in the other category, there will be
conversion permitted within sanctioned intake capacity. In case
candidates from either of the categories are not available,
these seats shall remain vacant,

(TECH)] .
QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION:
Candidates who have acquired the degree of M.Pharm. of Mumbai'
University or an equivalent M.Pharm. Degree from another
University recognised thereto, with at least a second class, are
eligible to apply for Ph.D.(Tech) course in one of the branches
of Pharmaceutical Sciences offered by the Institution and
subject to availability of seats and the consent given by the
Research Guide and the Principal. The admission may not be
granted on basis of inter-se-merit but will be at the discretion
of the guiding teacher and the Principal.
DURATION:
The course shall be offered only by Research and shall be of
minimum two calendar year duration as per the University rules
which may change from time to time. The course is a full time
course.
BRANCHES:
At present, Ph.D.(Tech.) courses are offered in the branches of
Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Analysis
and Pharmaceutics. These may be amended from time to time,
subject to the availability of Ph.D. recognised guides in
different branches.
